Revel - To enjoy oneself lively while drinking and dancing!
The heart of Revel began will forever remain in Oxford St Bulimba. In 2016, Jay Neven, the Founder and Director, first tabled the idea of bringing independent craft brewing back to the community due to his love of Bulimba’s brewing heritage, home made wood-fired pizza, and home brewing craft beer! Within a year, Jay had written a business case and recruited a small collection of close friends to band together and bring to life the now established Revel Brewing Company. Brewing in Bulimba dates back to the early 20th century where ‘Eagle brewing’ produced ales for the local community and activation of that history is integral in what we are about at Revel.
After winning an array of industry awards and accolades, including “Best New Brewery” at the 2018 Indies awards, we soon found ourselves needing to expand our operations and a unique opportunity arose to secure a lease at the heritage listed Commonwealth Historic Acetate of Lime Factory in Morningside. After wading through the significant challenges of expanding during the COVID-19 global pandemic, Revel commenced brewing at the Morningside factory in 2020 and opened the doors to the Revel Rivermakers Restaurant in the 4th quarter of 2021! Revel is proud to put Bulimba back on the map for some of the finest independent craft beer, and showcasing some of the amazing history that Brisbane has to offer with Bulimba’s unique history of brewing beer, and the activation of the Acetate of Lime Factory in Morningside. Join the REVELution!
